Unframed art by Lautrec, Lumpkins and Chase on show at Matthews Gallery

Santa Fe, NM—This holiday season, deck the halls—and every wall—with fantastic art. Matthews Gallery’s December 20- January 1 DECK THE WALLS event features unframed works on paper by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Lebadang, and never-before-seen art by Jamie Chase, Kate Rivers and William Lumpkins, all under $500.

“Works on paper make a great start to a collection, and can really flesh out more developed collections,” says owner Lawrence Matthews. “We’re devoting the gallery to some spectacular prints and paintings at great values.”

The show includes never-before-seen acrylic paintings and monotypes by contemporary artist Jamie Chase, featuring the artist’s trademark abstracted female figures and studies of the Southwestern landscape. Monotypes by Kate Rivers will also appear in the exhibition, including figurative work that shows a new side of the abstract mixed media artist.

Untitled (Musician) by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, published after the artist’s death, offers collectors an opportunity to own art by one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

Untitled (Lotus Flowers) by Vietnamese-born Parisian artist Lebadang is a strikingly vivid silkscreen from a contemporary master of printmaking.

Rare felt-tip pen drawings by late Santa Fe modernist William Lumpkins that were recently released from the private collection of a Lumpkins family member will appear exclusively in DECK THE WALLS.

Come view these works and more in this diverse and important exhibition at Matthews Gallery from December 20 through January 1.
